After a while of playing the game, all Borderlands 2 players realize that their goals are to obtain the best legendary items and weapons. But as we progress in the adventure we realize that there are also other weapons of lower rarity that are just as good and even better than these weapons, but usually, they are not given the attention they should be given.
Therefore, this guide is dedicated to discovering which are the best non-legendary weapons and items. When you see and try them, you will be surprised at how strong they are!
Lady Fist

Drop
The Lady Fist is obtained as a reward for the side quest “Uncle Teddy”, by delivering the weapon’s blueprints to Una Baha.
Effect
It deals +800% critical hit damage and its magazine size, projectile speed, and dispersion are improved. Can appear with Slag, Shock, Corrosion, or Fire element.
Who should use this weapon?
This weapon is very useful for dismembering hyperion robots and can be a very powerful weapon in the early game. However, Salvador, carrying the Lady Fist in one hand and a high-damage weapon in the other during his ability can obliterate waves of enemies and bosses in a matter of seconds, as the damage bonus applies to both weapons, even with vehicle weapons, if you enter with the weapon in hand.
Hive

Drop
This powerful Rocket Launcher may be a bit difficult to obtain, as the enemy that possesses it is quite dangerous. This boss is Saturn and is found in the Arid Nexus badlands. Although defeating this boss may be a bit difficult, at least you are lucky that its drop percentage is very high. Besides, you only have to get it once, since it only comes in the Corrosion element.
Effect
Shoot a Hive that sticks to the ground, it starts to rotate and shoot rockets everywhere. After finishing this effect the hive will explode. As mentioned before, this weapon only has the Corrosive element.
Who should use it?
Rather than a specific character, this Rocket Launcher should be used for specific situations. You should always use it when you encounter a large group of robots or characters weak to the corrosive element. Like all Rocket Launchers, this weapon is also very useful for obtaining Second Winds, especially if you are surrounded by robots.
Grog Nozzle

Drop
It is not very difficult to obtain the Grog Nozzle, but you must be careful not to make any mistake to lose it. This weapon is obtained as a quest weapon during the side quest “The beard makes the wizard”, included in the DLC “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep”. The only way to keep the weapon permanently is to keep the quest unfinished or find a player to trade or duplicate it who got it during the “$100,000 Loot Hunt” event by killing the Golden Golem or modifying the game files.
Effect
This weapon has very low damage, approximately 80%. On the other hand, it also has a 200% critical multiplier increase. The weapon also has a high elemental chance and always causes Slag. It fires large, slow projectiles that explode up to 3 times in the air, destroying itself on the third detonation. When equipped, it heals the wielder 65% of all damage caused to the enemy in any way, including damage from grenades, shield novae, or even projectiles from other weapons that have not yet hit when the weapon was equipped.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Grog Nozzle has a random chance to “intoxicate” the wearer, causing the chamber to oscillate and the character to hiccup. As long as the inebriated state is maintained, the character will fire 5 extra projectiles with the weapon he is using and without any added ammunition cost, at the cost of less accuracy and rate of fire.
Who should use this weapon?
The Grog Nozzle is practically essential for any high-level character. In Salvador’s case, it’s even better, as the combo of Grog Nozzle and Unkempt Harold creates one of the most powerful and well-known combos in the game.
In addition, this weapon is also very powerful in Krieg, since being qualified as if it were a gun, the axe that Krieg uses during his ability will be thrown as six axes. On the other hand, combined with his Hellborn tree skills and the Fire of the Firehawk shield will make chaos, surpassing even the potential that Salvador can have with this weapon.
Sand Hawk

Drop
This is one of those weapons that you can only get by playing additional content. You can get it as a reward for finishing the mission “Whoops” from the DLC Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty. To do this mission, you must head to Wurmwater.
Effect
This is not a weapon that has a very strange effect or is used in a different way, although the way it fires may confuse you at first. It consumes 3 bullets per shot producing 8 bird-shaped projectiles that travel horizontally and become invisible after traveling a certain distance. You can find it in the Fire, Corrosive, Shock, and Slag elements or without any element, so you should farm it until you find the element that best suits you.
Who should use it?
Since it is not a very rare weapon, but it is powerful, any character can use it. If you have to choose someone who you know will be a little more useful, Maya is a good choice. Her elemental tree skill will take advantage of the element you have chosen (or got) in the weapon. Also, your Phaselock will help you catch enemies when you are still not used to SandHawk’s shooting form.
