Shortly after its release, Resident Evil 4: Remake is already considered the best game in the series and the best action/horror game ever. The terrifying adventure not only replicated the essence of the original game to perfection but also improved many of its weaknesses. The game retains all of Leon’s one-liners and funniest moments, but it’s still scarier than ever.
Even though almost everyone has played the original Resident Evil 4, many fans are jumping on this new train with the Remake. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of 10 tips you should know if you’re new to the game.
This will be useful if you are new to the game and come from the original adventure, as many things have changed in the Spanish village.
Kill the enemies when they convulse
Sometimes, many rather, when an enemy falls to the ground, you will see how he starts to spasm. If you get close to him, you can finish him off with the knife, although you can also hit him with a few shots.
You must do this every time you see the opportunity. Otherwise, they will get up again, being much more dangerous. They will be even more lethal as the game progresses, so get into the habit of finishing them off from the start.
Exploit enemy aggro

Enemy aggro, or the distance they attack the player, is rather limited in Resident Evil 4 Remake. On many occasions, you will see how just by moving back far enough, sometimes without even leaving the same room, the enemies will ignore you and return to their own.
You can exploit this to your advantage to avoid large groups or especially dangerous enemies who will forget about you, and you can stab them in the back, which brings us to the next point.
Parrys, stealth attacks, and finishers
The knife has gained a lot of prominence over the original or previous Resident Evil. It is now used for four things: stealth attacks (actually, from behind. Even without being in stealth, if you are behind an enemy’s back, you can execute it), parry, it is also used to repel enemies when they have grabbed you and finish off enemies (when they convulse, get on their knees or crash into a wall).
You should keep in mind that knives break with use. You’ll find plenty of disposable kitchen knives, but the stronger ones can be repaired and upgraded to increase their damage and durability. Use them wisely,
Aim for limbs

Although the obvious thing to do is to shoot it in the head for maximum damage or make it stagger so you can get close and kick it. But, if for whatever reason you can’t or don’t see yourself capable, shoot arms and legs.
A shot to a leg can bring the enemy to his knees, allowing you to get in close for a finisher and then execute it on the ground. A shot in the arm will make the enemy drop their weapon, including Molotov cocktails and dynamite, with corresponding consequences. It is even possible to tear off their limbs, leaving them disadvantaged.
Think carefully about whether a headshot is worth it.
Improve your health with yellow herbs
In this installment, your maximum life level is increased with yellow herbs.
You’ll find tons of them, way more than you need, don’t worry about that. You must combine them with green or green+red herbs to use them.
Don’t sell treasures without upgrading them

There are more than 100 treasures that you can collect and sell. However, you can upgrade their value before giving them to The Merchant. To do this, you must embed gems in the treasures supporting them.
You will know which ones they are because they have slots in the inventory icon.
Note that there are different possible combinations of gems, each with several bonuses. Consult the ingame table and experiment to see which combination suits you best at any given moment.
Reserve the flashbang grenades
As unbelievable as it may seem to those new to the game, the flashbang grenade is one of the most useful weapons in the game.
The reason is that when you have advanced, one of these grenades allows you to instantly kill Plagues, one of the most dangerous enemy types in the game. No matter what type of Plague it is, as long as it is not a boss, any of these parasites in the range of a blinding grenade will die instantly.
Try to carry a pistol, a shotgun, and a sniper rifle
Resident Evil 4 Remake allows you to use many weapons, each with its own special characteristics. However, we highly recommend that you carry a pistol, shotgun and rifle with a telescopic sight, at least for the first few hours of the game.
The reason is that you will be able to have, always at hand, a medium-range weapon for common enemies, something heavier for close encounters, and a lethal long-range weapon.
Of course, it’s a matter of taste and later on, you will find better weapons than the shotgun to maximize the damage to enemies… but it’s a matter of taste.

You can sort the inventory automatically
One of the functions of the game is to sort the inventory automatically. This way, if something fits, it will be placed according to type and optimize the space in your briefcase. To do this, open the inventory and look at the bottom.
Depending on the platform on which you play will be a button or another, but all allow you to reorganize your junk quickly.
Take advantage of the amulets

When you progress through the game and reach the Shooting Galleries, you can unlock amulets, some accessories that you can equip in the Briefcase section of a typewriter.
You can equip up to three different ones, each offering several advantages. Some improve damage or healing, but others improve bullets created or increase the value of items sold, so think carefully about which ones you want to equip.
Remember that there is no cost to change them, so it is worth changing them every time you get to The Merchant.
