When the characters that were going to star in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel were announced, one name caught more attention than the rest (except for Claptrap, but for the wrong reasons), and that was Wilhelm. The character that would take the role of Roland or Axton in this adventure was a name known in Borderlands 2 for being the first hard boss and Handsome Jack’s right-hand man.
When it comes to choosing the best build for Wilhelm, we will find many options. As a bonus, increasing certain points on his Skill Tree will give him a more and more robotic look, so we’ll have a little extra fun. This is the best build for Wilhelm in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel.
Wilhelm Skill Tree
Hunter-Killer Skill Tree
+6% Wolf Air Speed per level
+3% Guns Damage, +5% Wolf Damage, per skill level
Kill Skill. Killing an enemy gives for a short time, per skill level:

While Wolf is alive, you will gain a stack of Rolling Thunder every 5 seconds, Wolf’s Damage is increased by 2% per stack per skill level.
Wolf Ability. Whenever Wolf is recalled, runs out of Health, or expires, it will dive bomb enemies with an explosive effect!

Additionally, while Saint is active you deal increased Damage with all gun types by 4% per rank.

Killing an enemy increases your cooldown rate for Wolf and Saint by 4% per rank, increases your movement speed by 3% per rank, and your Reload Speed by 8% per rank for a short time.
When Saint is recalled or expires, he explodes, deploying a Healing Zone underneath you that lasts 12 seconds. You and your friends Regenerate 8% of your max health Health / sec. while standing in the zone.
If you have an Incendiary, Shock, or Corrosive Status Effect on you, you and your friends gain an initial 17%, plus 12% per rank Resistance to that element.
Additionally, you will occasionally spread that Status Effect to nearby enemies while it’s active.
Best equipment for Wilhelm
Best weapon: Company Man
Wilhelm is a character that benefits a lot from doing a huge amount of damage in a few seconds, even if he has to hide for a few seconds to recharge his power (in case someone is left alive).
Company Man is excellent for this, as it has a huge damage output, but its huge magazine size will allow you to extend your peak damage seconds and generate even more damage.
As a second weapon, you can use the Excaliboo
It may have less damage than the shotguns, but you need a Cryo Gun so you don’t burn all your ammo in case of emergency. Excaliboo is the best choice, as you will freeze your enemies as you hit critical hits and you can survive large waves of enemies without burning all your ammo.
Best Shield: Shield of Ages
This shield doesn’t have any overly flashy powers, nor does it need to. Wilhelm is a character with a lot of damage and a very large kit, so the shield should be focused on survival.
Shield of Ages will give the enforcer that survivability, as his shield capacity is one of the largest in the game, and, as if that wasn’t enough, it’s not a very difficult shield to obtain.
Best Grenades: Quasar
As with many other characters that deal a lot of damage and rely on Cryo Damage for more dangerous situations, Shock grenades are very useful. In Wilhelm’s case, the best choice is Quasar.
As Wilhelm has a huge damage output, these grenades will not only serve to kill his shields but also to group enemies and finish them off in a matter of seconds.
Best Class Mod: Chronicler of Elphis
This Class Mod is one of the strongest in the game, and this is no exception for Wilhelm. The shield and Cryo Damage upgrades will be particularly good for the Enforcer.
Best Oz Kit: 3DD1.3
This is always a no-brainer. Very rarely will we recommend an Oz Kit other than 3DD1.3. This shield will allow you to stay alive longer, it will make your skills trigger more often, and if you use a laser weapon, even your damage will increase exponentially.
